Goodbye 2017. Hello 2018!

A review of 2017 💌

Isn’t it crazy how we can look back a year ago and realize how much has changed? The amount of people that have left your life, entered, and stayed. One year ago, I can be honest with myself and say I don’t know who I was. Today, I am stronger, more confident, and happier than I’ve ever been with the person I’ve become. Two things that have changed my life: Self value and self worth.

In 2017, I built my very first house, had the best 25th birthday getting to celebrate with all of my cousins, FINALLY got to see Thomas Rhett in concert (one unforgettable night), watched my little cousin marry the man of her dreams, made countless memories with old and new friends, and rang in 2018 with my family and the best thing from 2017!

Hello 2018 ❤️️

A new year, new you right? Going into the new year, most people have new years resolutions or goals they want to accomplish. Here are a few of mine:

Investing in relationships

It is so easy to get caught up and "busy" in life and forget to take care of our relationships and the people that matter most in our lives. A goal of mine is to work on simplifying areas in my life to have more time to be intentional with my time and relationships.

Try something new each month

One thing 2017 truly taught me was how to get out of my comfort zone. If you know me, you know I'm terrified of heights and even 3 steps on a ladder is too much for me. Our Business Development team at Gateway did a team builder at the Riversport Adventures in OKC. One of our tasks was the Sandridge Sky Trail; The Sky Trail is the tallest adventure course in the world, 80 feet tall. My goal was just to make it one level, and with the encouragement of my wonderful team, I completed 7 out of the 8 levels! This brought me to my 2nd goal; to learn something new each month, whether it be from an educational standpoint at work, a relationship standpoint, or trying something new that I normally wouldn't do!

Most importantly, my goal is to continue to focus on personal and spiritual growth, leaning on the people that count the most in my life and giving the glory to God, no matter the failures or successes of 2018. For all of you who have set personal goals and are here to achieve them; here's to 2018!
